Renault has unveiled the new version of the SUV Koleos at the Beijing Motor Show (25. April – 4. May) in Pekin. With its rugged optics, variable all - wheel - drive technology, innovative onboard infotainment system and spacious interior with a sporty touch, the crossover makes a good figure in the class. Renault plans for autumn the market launch of the off- roader in the Middle East. Elegant and robust exterior. The exterior of the redesigned Koleos is determined by muscular lines and distinctive chrome elements, including strips that run from the headlights along the entire lenght of the wings. The C-shaped headlights are available with full – LED technology. Large wheels of 19 inches and the aluminium roof bars give the crossover a sporty character. Functional and spacious interior. The SUV is based on the CMF- C/D (Common Module Family) platform for large sized vehicles. The interior features spaciousness, quality and functionality. The flagship will be the longest model in the Renault range with the lenght of 4,67m. Renault claims also “record braking” rear knee room of 289 mm. Koleos offers excellent visibility thank to elevated driving position, 150mm higher than in other sedans. The boot has 624 litres of the luggage capacity, which can by extended by folding the 60/40 split rear seat up to 1.690 litres. Dynamic engines and switchable four-wheel-drive. Engines are petrol and diesel aggregats, with power outputs ranging between 128bhp and 173bhp, with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. The all-wheel drive system is user- friendly, the driver can easly switch between 2WD, 4WD, AUTO and 4WD LOCK modes. At slow speeds in low-grip conditions, the 4WD LOCK allows the driver to select permanent all-wheel drive. Ground clearance of 213 mm as well as approach and departure angles of 19 and 26 degrees enhance the crossover’s all-terrain ability. Advanced safety and great comfort. Comprehensive equipment and a wide range of driver assistance systems guarantee enhanced safety and stability. Depending on the market, Koleos comes with following driver aids, available either as standard or as options: active emergency braking system, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition with excess speed warning, blind spot and safe distance warnings, tiredness detection, easy park assist and rear view camera. All assistance systems can be controlled via R-Link2, the infotainment system with 7 or 8,7-inches screen dominating the cabin. The comfort features onboard can include BOSE® surround sound system, heated steering wheel and windscreen, electronic seat adjustment and all-round parking sensors. The second generation of Renault Koles will be available in 80 countries all over the world, starting in in China, Australia, Turkey and in the Middle East. The European premiere is expected at the Paris Motor Show in autumn. No pricing has been announced for the New Koleos, but it’s expected to be positioned close to the price of the available version.
